![]() I just want to see it able to launch games with MAME on my system. Would someone please point me to something that clearly and concisely tells me how to get the current version of HyperSpin working with my copy of MAME? I don't need to configure the flashy options yet that'll come later. ![]() All of the information I've found talks about pieces that don't exist (HyperSpin comes with HyperLaunch but the information says to use RocketLaunch?) or tells me to move all the pieces of MAME into the HyperSpin directories (which of course breaks MAME), or explains every folder but doesn't tell me how to configure it. Problem is, I can't find any simple/straightforward tutorials or videos to explain how to set up HyperSpin 1.5.1 with MAME. I'd like to try HyperSpin, to see if it works better, and also because HyperSpin looks flashy. Impressive American creations like Pitfall II and H.E.R.O. I've been using Attract Mode with it, but I'm having a problem where sometimes when I exit the game back to Attract Mode, the Attract Mode screen doesn't get focus and it ignores control inputs until I pull out the keyboard and press Alt-Tab. Its a shame that this revolution didnt really begin until the U.S. I have a cabinet with vertical display and a working installation of the latest version of MAME (with a set of about 400 hand-curated games, non-merged, some are clones). R/MAME RULES/REGULATIONS REDDIT'S ARCADE COMMUNITY Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. Are there any other frontends out there that have sprung up or are in development that seek to outdo Hyperspin’s presentation Seems like this is still the flashiest, most impressive way to go. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten. I’ve been running Hyperspin on my MAME cabinet for 3 years now and I still think it was worth every minute and every penny I put into configuring it. MAME’s purpose is to preserve decades of software history. MAME is a multi-purpose emulation framework. r/pinball - Pinball specific discussion.Questions? Please check out OUR MAME/BYOAC Wiki!
